Family Support Worker needed to undertake outreach and safety oriented support work with the partners and ex-partners of men who attend Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme from any of the following sources: public or private law risk assessments, self-referring men, and those men who are referred via Childrens Service departments. You will be working as part of a team, to provide a range of family support and assessment services (both centre based and outreach) to families experiencing severe difficulties within a diverse local community. You will be working in partnership with professionals in house and colleagues across agency boundaries, ensure that work is undertaken in line with agency care plans to safeguard and promote the well-being of children and young people. You will need to comply with the statutory requirements of the relevant children and young people, mental health or community care legislation, and working in line with the requirements of the Council’s policies and procedures to ensure that children are safeguarded and able to maximise their life chances. You will need to ensure that services are both preventative and responsive and offered in a flexible way to address issues as they occur, including offering some services during early evening and at weekends. You will be contributing to the development of a co-ordinated community response to domestic violence by demonstrating a commitment to working in partnership within a multi agency context. You must have completed the first year of a 2 year Diploma course in Counselling or Psychotherapy or have relevant experience that directly relates to working with women and children affected by domestic abuse.
